The same sizes as the circles on the sheet, measured inside the ring. Canada uses US sizes; Ireland and Australia use UK letters, given to the nearest half size. The ISO size used in France, Belgium, Austria and the Nordic countries is the circumference to the nearest millimetre; Germany and the Netherlands use the diameter.

Between two sizes

If the slit falls between two marks, choose the larger size. Fingers are a little larger at the end of the day and in warm weather, so measure twice at different times. A wide band sits more snugly than a narrow one of the same size.

US, UK and European sizes

France, Belgium, Austria and the Nordic countries use ISO sizes, the inside circumference in millimetres, so a reading of 54 on the strip is ISO size 54. Germany and the Netherlands size a ring by its inside diameter, the millimetres under each circle, and Italy, Spain and Switzerland by the circumference minus 40, so 54 there is size 14. Each whole US size is 2.55 mm of circumference larger than the one before, and each British letter, used in the UK, Ireland and Australia, is 1.25 mm larger.
