Identify the binding edge
Choose the binding system first, then select left, right, top or none to match the finished page. On duplex output, the generator mirrors a left or right binding clearance on the back of the sheet; inspect the page-by-page preview.
Set and inspect content clearance
The inner content margin moves writing areas away from the selected binding edge. It is content clearance, not a punch-hole coordinate or a promise that a particular punch will fit. Trim first, then align the finished sheet with the punch maker’s physical guide.
Start with enough room for the punch guide and a comfortable writing boundary, then inspect the overlay. Compact formats may require a simpler layout or shorter labels rather than squeezed content.
Check the setup with scrap paper
Trim a test page to final dimensions, place it in the actual punch, and follow that tool’s guide. Punch one scrap sheet, insert it into the planner and turn it through the binding. Increase the user-set content margin if holes or discs crowd the writing area.
