The three branches, filled in

To fill in, with a word bank

To fill in, then the answer key

Which sheet to print

The three branches, filled in, is the chart: the Constitution at the top, then each branch with the article that sets it up, who is in it and what it does, and five checks and balances at the foot. To fill in keeps the branch names and leaves lines for who is in each branch and what it does, with the six answers in a word bank, and lines to write a check of one branch on another. With the answer key, the chart follows as a second page.

Where the facts come from

The articles, the terms of office, the veto and the two-thirds vote that overrides it, and impeachment are the Constitution’s own, from the National Archives transcript. The House has 435 voting members, the number fixed by law, as the House explains; the nine justices are the Supreme Court’s own count; and what each branch does follows USAGov’s page on the branches of government. Each was read on 17 October 2026.
