Match each tool to its job, then the answer key

Name each tool, with a word bank, then the answer key

Science tools chart

Which sheet to print

Match each tool to its job puts the eight tools down the left and their jobs down the right in another order, for the child to join with a line; the answer key draws the lines. Name each tool shows the eight pictures with a line under each and the names in a box at the top. The chart shows all eight with what each one is for, to put on the wall before the worksheets.

The eight tools

A magnifying glass makes small things look bigger, and binoculars make faraway things look closer. A thermometer measures how hot or cold something is, a ruler how long it is, a measuring cup how much liquid there is, and a stopwatch how long something takes. A balance scale shows which of two things is heavier: the heavier side goes down. Safety goggles keep your eyes safe when something could splash or fly.
